I went along to the Cage Force event on Sunday, April 11th at Differ Ariake.

Cageforce

The octagon is not quite as big as the UFC but it is certainly much better than the standard ring for MMA fighters.

I arrived and was kindly met by Seto san of Wajutsu Keishukai. We promptly greeted the boss, Kubo san, who remembered me from the days when Demolition and D.O.G (the precursor to Cageforce) and he immediately suggested I fight in the June event; great news!

Cage Force is the only MMA organisation in Japan that allows the use of elbows. The lower ranking fights are 3X5-minute rounds; the higher ranking fights are 3X5-minute rounds.

At about the halfway point, all the ring girls present gathered and MMA-in-Japan.com took the photo opportunity!

I have said I will fight at light heavyweight or heavyweight. More news as it comes in!

Be good to see you doing your thing in the ring soon. Will be interesting to see if you drop a weight level or not.

I told them I’m happy to drop to 93kg, or I’ll fight at anything up to 100kg. Most events are still held in the (rope) ring so I’m eager to get back in the octagon!
